Covid-19 Rules and Protocol

As a dancer /Guardian, you knowingly and willingly consent to attending DC Dance Factory during the COVID- 19 pandemic.

  • I understand the COVID-19 virus has a long incubation period during which carriers of the virus may or may not show symptoms and could be highly contagious.
  • I understand that I may have an elevated risk of contracting the virus by attending classes at DC Dance Factory.
  • If I start to show symptoms of COVID-19 within 48 hours (2 days) of being at the studio I will contact the studio to let them know.
  • I will let the studio know if my dancer tests positive for Covid if they had been at the studio (2 days prior ) to the test.
  • I understand that a dancer cannot attend classes at the studio while waiting for Covid-19 results to come back.
  • I understand that if I have been around someone (within 6 feet for longer than 10 minutes) that has tested positive for Covid-19 then I must quarantine for 14 days which means not attending classes in the dance studio.
  • I understand that should my child test positive for Covid-19 they must quarantine for 10 days from testing positive and must be fever /symptom free for 72 hours before returning to the studio.
  • I understand that no parents will be allowed in our waiting room for dancers 6 and up. For dancers under 6 years old we will allow 1 parent in the waiting room . That parent must wear a mask (no siblings) and must stay socially distant from other parents in the lobby.
  • I understand that my dancer will need a mask for entering the studio and leaving the studio to wear when not socially distanced in the dance room. Dancers 10 & up will be required to wear masks for class unless they have asthma or an underlying medical issue that prevents them from wearing them. This is to help protect both them and some of our staff which are high risk. For dancers 9 and under masks are optional but are highly advised especially now while the spread is high and also especially for classes such as tumbling where the teacher will need to spot the dancer and be in a closer proximity. We advise dancers to wear more of a form styled mask that doesn’t have the fabric directly up against their mouth. The ones that hold their shape and form away for their mouth and nose will be better for them . We will also closely watch dancers and anyone that is having a hard time with the mask will be allowed a break or to step outside and remove their mask if needed. These rules and procedures could change throughout the year due to the pandemic changing daily but for now while the spread is high this is what we feel is best.

I confirm that I(dancer) or parent in waiting room am not showing any of the following symptoms of COVID-19 listed below:

  1. Fever–Temperature Above 99 Degrees
  2. Shortness of Breath
  3. Loss of Sense of Taste or Smell
  4. Dry Cough
  5. Runny Nose
  6. Sore Throat
  7. Chills
  8. Headache or Muscle Pain
  • I understand that at any given time the class might be required to meet virtually. Example would be if the guidelines by the county require us to close again or should there be too many cases, teachers affected. (our goal is to continue in person with the virtual option as long as we are allowed to do so). Should the classes have to switch to zoom classes dancers will still remain enrolled and normal withdrawal policies still stay in effect. (See withdrawal policies)
  • Withdrawal policies- Any dancer wishing to discontinue classes must let us know by the first of the month before they wish to discontinue. If for example a dancer would like to not continue classes in December they must let us know by November 1st that that month is their last month to not be charged for the month of December. Should a dancer let us know mid month, such as November 15th, they will still be charged for December and payments will discontinue for the month of January. Any payments for costumes, recital are nonrefundable.
  • In the event that we are notified that a dancer in a class does test positive for Covid-19 we will notify dancers that were exposed. Exposed is defined by the CDC as being closer than 6 feet for longer than 10 minutes.
  • Classrooms will be wiped down between groups and all rooms will be deeply disinfected each night after classes. Should we have too many cases of Covid and feel that the studio needs to be closed for an even deeper clean we will notify everyone and classes will go virtual temporarily.
  • If my dancer has chosen “in person” training but needs to switch to online (zoom ) training I will let the studio know by 12noon on the day of the class by emailing dcdancefactory92@gmail.com.
  • If my dancer has chosen “virtual training” and would like to switch to in person training I know that I must email dcdancefactoryaccountsmanager@hotmail.com to make sure that there is availability in the class to switch to in person.
  • I understand that should my child wish to participate in the recital/ end of the year show that he/she must attend in person classes starting the month of January. (he/she will still have the zoom option if needed for quarantine purposes only)
  • I confirm that I have read and will follow the studio’s strict guidelines.
  • I confirm that I have not traveled outside the United States within the past 14 days.
