COMPANY AUDITIONS
If you are interested in being a part of one of the DC Dance Factory Competition Team our company auditions are held during our summer intensive. Our company dancers range from ages 4 to 19.
We also have an all boys company which happens to also be our biggest company!
Our company dancers attend on average 4 regional competitions and 1-2 national events along with other optional convention/competition training experiences. For more information regarding our competition team please fill out our contact form at the bottom of this page.
AUDITION INFORMATION
All dancers wanting to audition for our 2024-2025 competition team please make sure you have met the following requirements:
Your dancer must be registered for our summer intensive classes in order to audition. If you can't be there in person please choose the virtual option.
Dancer's must submit a tryout form by clicking on the link below and uploading a headshot. Deadline to fill out tryout form is June 15th.
Dancer's will not be informed on tryout results until after July 10th because our dancers will be attending nationals. Once we return from nationals we will email those who did not make our team and then we will send out congratulation emails to those that are chosen. We ask that you only audition if you intend on accepting your position on the team. It is very hard to choose teams and then have someone change their mind and not accept a spot that was given to them. Should something come up where your dancer does not want to compete if chosen and it's in between when your dancer auditioned and before announcements are made please let us know as soon as possible!
HONORED STUDIO
This summer we had the honor to take 175 of our competition kids to one of the biggest dance competitions in the country! At this event the kids had the opportunity to not only take class with some of the best teachers in the industry, but they were able to be a part of staged pieces by the faculty, be on set and be featured in a Nike ad, and most importantly compete for the national title! Being such a big event, to qualify for the big grand prize of honored studio you must have dances in the categories of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop in the 12 & Under and 13 & Over categories, but qualifying is only half the climb. From there the dances compete and then out of all the studios, the top 5 are selected to recompete and perform in the Honored Studio competition where some of the most incredible dancing and artistry is shown. Finally it is at the last night of the event where the Gala is held and the big announcement is made where we gratefully accepted the title of
